Laura Joseph Mogil is a freelance writer whose articles have appeared in The New York Times, Westchester Magazine, Westchester Magazine Home & Garden, Hudson Valley Magazine and The Journal News. She frequently writes about the arts, home and design, and food/entertaining, and has a blog at www.theinspiredchef.blogspot.com.

Prior to focusing on writing, Ms. Mogil was in the public relations field for 18 years and ran LJM Public Relations from 1991 to 2003. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Duke University with a B.A. in art history in 1984. A 16-year resident of Briarcliff Manor, NY, she has lived in Westchester County since 1986.

In addition to her professional career, Ms. Mogil is an active volunteer with the Ossining Open Door, Briarcliff Manor Community Coalition, UJA-Federation of New York/Westchester, and the Pleasantville Cottage School. She is a past board member of The Briarcliff Manor Education Foundation.
